R-5One-Family and Restricted Two-Family Dwelling District (5,000 sq ft)
Arlington County, VA · Arlington County Zoning Ordinance (ACZO)
R-5 (ACZO §5.7) is a one-family district on relatively small 5,000 square foot lots, and one of the most common residential designations in Arlington County. It also permits two-family dwellings (duplexes and semidetached) by special exception on sites abutting an RA, C, or M district or located on a principal or minor arterial street (§5.7.B) -- the 'restricted two-family' in the district's name.
